Clearaudio Talismann V2 Gold Moving Coil Cartridge
The Talismann V2 Gold provides the entry level into the latest V2 generation of clearaudio MC cartridges.
Like all cartridges in the MC V2 range, it uses a unique patented configuration of eight magnets arranged in a ring (double the number of the previous version, which featured four magnets). This generates an intense magnetic field and also allows a reduced moving mass, giving a significantly greater sound performance with new levels of dynamic range, detail and channel separation.
The body of the Talismann V2 Gold is made of hand-polished ebony with metal top plate and an internal metal-alloy resonance-suppressing block. The name 'Gold' refers to its MC generator, in which the coils are manufactured from pure 24-carat gold wire. Thanks to the new eight magnet design, the wire in the V2 generation coils has been thinned down, further reducing mass.
Like all of the V2 generation MC cartridges, the Talismann V2 incorporates clearaudio's patented MC construction principle, which guarantees absolute symmetry of all electrical, mechanical and magnetic parameters, enabling free movement of the cartridge by reducing inertia.
All of the V2 generation MC cartridges also feature a precision boron cantilever and micro HD (high definition) stylus, which achieves a perfect contact with the record groove walls and by virtue of its extremely low mass (around one fifth of that of typical high quality styli), is able to faithfully reproduce even the finest musical details.
A removable stylus guard is included.
