Futuresource Conference: 'Audio Renaissance' at London's Ham Yard Hotel
Igloo people, on an adventure from our HQ, were delighted to attend this year's Futuresource Conference: 'Audio Renaissance' at London's Ham Yard Hotel on Tuesday 20 October 2015.
The afternoon opened with an introduction from Paul Pacifico, CEO of Featured Artist Coalition, followed by a insightful presentation from singer/songwriter Imogen Heap. Imogen introduced a concept that is something we think both artist and audience have been searching for, for some time; connection of artist to audience - pooling and feeding all the information and mechanisms in between. Social media can only get you so far, and the Mycelia concept is one that makes a lot of sense to us. One to watch.
The whole event was peppered with great presentations and thought provoking stuff, particularly on the relevance of radio, which although it's a platform we use and enjoy a lot personally, we don't really focus on in our HiFi range, and something we intend to investigate more. Of particular interest of course was the subject of sound quality and premium audio, a subject which Matt White of Omnifone and Spencer Chrislu of MQA (Meridian) spoke of with passion.
Our thanks to Futuresource for inviting us to such a well organised and pleasurable event. We hope to see you again next year and will follow with interest the progress on topics discussed in between.
