Atacama Aurora 6 Speaker Stands

The brief was to design a speaker stand like nothing that had come before. It had to be able to compliment the latest speakers whilst coordinating with modern home interiors. It needed to have a designer style and still meet the demands of the audio enthusiast. Most importantly, it needed to appeal to those who feel that speaker stands should add interest to a room, not detract from it.

So Atacama developed Aurora 6. The column is manufactured from a clear acrylic cylinder, whilst the toughened glass base plate is shaped like a tear drop. Cable management has been incorporated via the central chrome torsion tube allowing the speaker cable to be concealed, and sound dampening Atacama Isolation Gel pads are fitted as standard to the top plate. Atacama have also developed the A.S.I.S.T. Gasket (Atacama Sonic Isolation System Technology), one of which is fitted to each end of the Aurora acrylic cylinder. The A.S.I.S.T. Gasket eliminates resonance within the main column and also provides a secure interface for the top and base plates.

The aesthetics of the Aurora are also clear to see from first glance. The acrylic column can be filled with just about anything you can think of, (with the exception of liquids or living things!). The possibilities to colour coordinate with the surrounding décor are endless and once you get tired of the filling you have, you simply remove it and replace with something else. To help, Atacama have made available a range of Atabite Premium filler especially designed to fill Aurora speaker stands. This dampening filler is specifically designed to improve the sonic performance.
